He says back then and old school a lot, but that is not the case. Early 70s is already emissions times and no they didnt do rust back then. Metal flake and chrome is how "they" did it. Throw some tuck and roll and flames in the mix and that is about right. No mexican blankets and smokey engines. With that said, i have a rat truck, but its a trend not vintage.

thats not how they did it back then. my pops has been building rods from the late 40,s till current, and he will tell you men took pride in there rides. you would never see a guy rolling around in a rusty car back in the day, even the poor fuckers. put some paint on those shitters, and quit short cutting. if you like that look then cool but dont say thats how kids use to do it. rat rods are budget built and trindy as shit and thats all.
